The 1H 2026 release of SAP SuccessFactors Learning introduced the Person-Centric Experience (PCX), a structural shift in how the system manages data for employees with multiple employments. Historically, users with concurrent assignments or global assignments required separate User IDs in Learning. With PCX, the architecture moves toward a single user profile per person, consolidating learning history and assignments under one entity.
Structural Profile Consolidation
Under the PCX framework, the system eliminates the need for multiple User IDs for a single individual. Once PCX is enabled, each person is represented by one user ID in Learning. This change specifically impacts how user data from multiple employments is processed and stored within the Learning module. It is important to note that this architectural change is localized to Learning; it does not alter the existing experience or data structures within Employee Central or the broader Employee Profile in SAP SuccessFactors.
Data Integration and the Person Connector
To support this new model, SAP introduced the Person Connector. This tool is built upon the foundation of the User Connector - SF but includes enhanced logic specifically designed to process multiple employment data. It provides additional mapping support for Employee Central fields, ensuring that data from various assignments is correctly synchronized into the single person-based profile. For implementation, SAP provides a standard Integration Center template to facilitate the setup of these data jobs.
Assignment Profile Logic in a Person-Centric Model
The transition to a single profile necessitates changes to how automated assignments are managed. Because an individual now has only one user ID, all learning assignments are directed to this consolidated profile. To maintain granular control, Assignment Profiles have been enhanced with additional attributes. These enhancements allow administrators to create rules that target specific assignments based on either primary or secondary employment data, even though the target is a single person-based record.
Availability and Adoption
As of the 1H 2026 release, the Person-Centric Experience is not a mandatory update and remains under restricted availability. Organizations wishing to adopt this model must request approval to begin testing in a preview environment. This phased approach allows for controlled validation of the transition from a user-based to a person-based learning architecture.
