Technical Readiness for the Universal People Profile Migration

The transition to the latest People Profile experience has reached its final phase, becoming universal and mandatory as of the 1H 2026 release. This update cannot be disabled, requiring organizations to align their data management and search configurations with the new architectural standards. The shift focuses on the 'Full Profile' concept, which serves as the primary consolidated interface for employee data across the SAP SuccessFactors suite.

Consolidated Data Management in Full Profile

The Full Profile is designed to centralize various data types into a single location. This consolidation allows employees, managers, and HR administrators to view and modify data while immediately understanding the implications of those changes. The interface supports a wide range of data blocks, including standard User Information, Metadata Framework (MDF) blocks, and Employee Central components such as compensation and payment information.

Key technical considerations for the Full Profile include:

  • Role-Based Permissions (RBP): Visibility and editability within the Full Profile remain governed by RBP, including target population settings that determine which categories and cards are accessible to specific users.
  • Configuration Flexibility: Administrators can re-arrange the order of categories and cards, or hide specific categories from the profile view.
  • MDF Integration: The profile supports MDF blocks, utilizing the 'Default Screen' or specific MDF Screen IDs to render data.

Enhanced People Search Integration

Parallel to the profile migration, the system utilizes Enhanced People Search to improve findability across the platform. This search infrastructure supports various searchable fields, including Assignment ID, User ID, and Person ID External. This enhanced search capability is integrated into the global header and directory, ensuring that the transition to the latest profile experience is supported by robust indexing and retrieval mechanisms.

Practitioner Recommendations

To ensure readiness for this universal migration, technical teams should audit their existing profile configurations. Specifically, verify that MDF Screen IDs are correctly mapped and that custom navigation links are updated to point to the Full Profile. Because the 1H 2026 release removes the option to revert to legacy views, testing the visibility of pay components and background elements within the new 'Full Profile' categories is essential for maintaining data integrity during the transition.
