The latest People Profile experience has reached a universal state as of the 1H 2026 release, making the Full Profile view the standard interface for employee data. This consolidation allows employees, managers, and HR administrators to view and modify data within a single unified experience. For solution architects, the transition requires a clear understanding of how legacy configurations, specifically custom MDF blocks and background elements, translate into the new UI.
Migration of Profile Configurations
When moving to the latest People Profile, existing configurations from the legacy People Profile (PP3) are migrated to the new framework. A critical distinction in the new UI is the handling of background elements. Currently, only custom background elements are supported in the latest Configure People Profile interface. Standard background elements defined in the Succession Data Model may not appear in the configuration tool for the latest profile, even if they were visible in the legacy version.
The Full Profile view supports a variety of data types, including Employee Central (EC) HRIS-standard elements, custom MDF, and background elements. However, the editing experience for these elements follows a phased rollout. While the view mode is universal, the edit and history experience for custom MDF and certain standard MDF-based elements remains in the legacy design if they utilize UI Customization (UIC) rules.
MDF and Background Element Visibility
The Full Profile consolidates data into a single location, but administrators must note specific behavioral changes in how fields are rendered. For example, in compensation-related blocks like Recurring Pay Components, the UI displays both "Amount" and "Percentage" labels in view mode to improve user experience, even though these are mapped to a single "value" field in the Business Configuration UI (BCUI). This behavior is specific to the Full Profile view mode.
Key limitations to consider during configuration include:
- Badges: The Badges card is no longer available within the Full Profile. It is exclusively located in the Spotlight view, though the "Give a Badge" action remains accessible via the "All Actions" menu in both the Preview and Full Profile.
- Employee Information: Certain fields in the Employee Information section are no longer editable directly on the latest profile UI.
- MDF Support: As of 1H 2026, only selected custom MDF and MDF-based standard elements that do not use UIC rules are supported for the new Edit/History experience.
Architect Implications and Validation
Architects must validate that all custom background elements required for talent management or organizational reporting have migrated correctly to the latest Configure People Profile tool. Because standard background elements are not currently supported in the new configuration interface, alternative data structures or custom MDF objects may be required if those fields must be rearranged or modified within the Full Profile layout.
Furthermore, since the Full Profile view became universal in 1H 2026, administrators can no longer disable this experience. Validation should focus on the user's ability to navigate between the Profile Preview, Spotlight, and Full Profile, ensuring that permissions for custom MDF blocks remain consistent across the legacy and latest interfaces.
