The latest People Profile experience became universal in the 1H 2026 release, establishing a consolidated view for employee data across various user roles. While the Full Profile is designed to unify information, certain elements from the legacy People Profile (PP3) exhibit different behaviors or are intentionally excluded from this view to align with the new architectural design.
Badge Visibility and Actionability
A common point of confusion for administrators is the apparent disappearance of the Badges card. In the latest People Profile, the Badges card is not available in the Full Profile view. This is an intentional design choice rather than a configuration error.
To view an employee's badges, users must navigate to the Spotlight view, which serves as the primary location for these social recognition elements. However, the ability to award new badges remains accessible from the Full Profile. Administrators and users can find the 'Give a Badge' option within the 'All Actions' menu in both the Profile Preview and the Full Profile views.
Background Element Support
The migration of background elements into the latest profile experience follows specific technical constraints. Currently, there is a distinction between standard and custom background elements defined in the Succession Data Model. In the latest Configure People Profile tool, only custom background elements are supported for configuration and display.
Predefined background elements that were visible in the legacy PP3 configuration may not appear in the latest configuration interface. Organizations relying heavily on standard background elements should evaluate their data strategy, as the latest experience prioritizes custom elements for the Full Profile view.
Compensation Field Discrepancies
Visibility gaps also appear in compensation-related portlets, specifically regarding Recurring Pay Components and One-Time Payments. In the Full Profile view mode, users may see both Amount and Percentage fields. This occurs because the UI displays two labels for a better user experience, even though the underlying Business Configuration (BCUI) uses a single 'value' field to capture both data types.
When viewing these portlets:
- For amount-based components, the Amount field is populated while the Percentage field remains blank.
- For percentage-based components, the Percentage field captures the value, while the Amount field displays a value copied from the 'Calculated Amount' field.
Architectural Implications for Administrators
As of the 1H 2026 release, the latest People Profile experience cannot be disabled. Solution architects must account for the staggered rollout of Edit and History capabilities. While the Full Profile view is universal, Edit and History functions for Employee Central HRIS-based elements (including Compensation Information) are currently in an opt-in phase, with universal adoption planned for 2027.
Validation of data visibility should focus on the distinction between the Spotlight (for social elements like Badges) and the Full Profile (for core HRIS and custom MDF data). If specific fields appear missing, administrators should first verify if the element is a standard background element, as these remain restricted in the latest configuration tool compared to their custom counterparts.
